Memorial services for Pearl Virginia Tageant, 85, a homemaker and resident of Vidalia, LA., will be 10am Monday March 30, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 601 Florida Avenue in Ferriday, LA. with Father Louis Sklar officiating under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday, LA. Pearl was born September 25, 1929 in Holly Ridge, LA. to the union of David A and Rose E. Jordan Goodger and passed from this life March 25, 2015 at her residence in Vidalia, LA. surrounded by her loving family. Pearl grew up with thirteen brothers and sisters in rural Louisiana. She married Clarence Neal Regan December 24, 1945. They had two children Donise Onita Allwell of Louisiana and Jimmy Darrell Marlette and wife Patricia of Star City, Arkansas. Later she married the "LOVE" of her life Joseph James Tageant Jr. New Year's Day December 31, 1951 in Natchez, MS. She was a friend to many and always displayed the love and joy and caring to whom she met. She was a true mother figure and comforting to many. She will surely be missed in the hearts of who knew her. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents David and Rose Goodger, husband Clarence Neal Regan, daughter Doris L. Orr, great -grand daughter Chloe M. McClenahan and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include the "Love" of her life Joseph James Tageant Jr., of which they had six children Pearl V. Kelly and husband Brian of Sacremento, CA. Peggy Joe Converse of Pueblo, Co., Penny G. Bortka and husband Timothy of Eureka Springs, Ark., Rose M. Tageant of Laramie, Wyoming, Sandra K. Taylor of Vidalia, LA., fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren , a brother James Goodger of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister Martha Ann Goodger Smith and husband Phillip of Monterey, LA.; her husband's siblings special sister in-law Julia Ann "Dolly" Tageant Reeves, special brother in-law Phillip James Tageant and special brother in-law Jesse James Tageant both of Vidalia, LA. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a loving thank you to Camilla Hospice for their caring for their mother. In lieu of flowers the family has asked to make donations to the American Heart Association.
