Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Trant 72, owner of a trucking co., will be 10am Saturday March 22, 2014 at Eva Church of God in Eva, LA. with Rev. Joey Pepmiller and Rev. Gordon Finlay officiating . Interment will follow at Forman Cemetery in Eva, LA. under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday, LA. Mr. Trant was born April 18, 1941 to the union of Dathan Rayford and Marjorie Hamm Trant and passed from this life March 18, 2014 at his residence in Monterey, LA. surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Trant loved kids especially his grandkids and loved to coach baseball and enjoyed riding motorcycles and 18 wheelers. He will surely be missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Dathan and Marjorie Trant, his wife Linda Forman Trant, and one brother Larry Dale Trant, one niece and nephew Mona and Steve Hensley. Survivors include his children Jimmy Ray Trant Jr. and his wife Jodee of Monterey, LA.; Misty Trant Little and her husband James of Monterey, LA.; grandchildren Tanner, Tyler, and Dathan, Hobie and Candace; two sisters Claudia Smith of Bossier City, LA. and Marjorie Wood of Bossier City, LA. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Jared Mophett, Ed Hill, Kris Forman, Red Tiffee, Jeff Britt and Eric Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stevie Book, 4 Rivers Freedom Riders "CMA" and Class of "59" Ferriday. LA. Friends may call for visitation after 5pm until 8pm Friday March 21, 2014 at Eva Church of God in Monterey, LA.
