Funeral services for Helen H. Cooper, 91, of Waterproof, LA. will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Crossbridge Church in Ferriday, La. at 1 p.m. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Hunt, Jr., Pastor Deborah A. Howell and Pastor B.J. Smith. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez, Ms., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home. Mrs. Cooper was born May 17, 1930 in St. Joseph, La. and passed away March 19, 2022 in Tallulah, La. Her foremost desire was to show others the Love of Christ by witnessing and her through her actions. She witnessed about the power and love of Jesus until she passed away. Miss Helen and her husband Buddy helped people who were struggling with the hardships of life by opening their home. Many lived with them until they were able to stand on their own. Miss Helen was also famous for her cinnamon and yeast rolls. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John William Glenn “Buddy” Cooper; her parents, L.M. Howell and Ella Mae Edwards Howell; and her daughter, Paula Glenn; and her eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Cooper is survived by daughter Lois “Tiki” Hunt and her husband Pastor Jerry Hunt, Jr. of Winnsboro, La., granddaughter, Jyssica Sullivan and husband Justin Sullivan of Rayville, La. and great-grandson John Cooper Sullivan. And a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Justin Sullivan, Dalton Mason, Edward Botley, Jeremy McElwee, Darryl Seal, and James Lentz. Honorary pallbears are staff of Legacy Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, Father Bob Cooper, Dr. Jim Funderburg and Steve Howell.
