Glenda Dell Epperson

December 6, 1941 - March 1, 2012

Graveside services for Mrs. Glenda Dell Hansford Epperson, 70, will be 11am Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Oak Grove Church Cemetery on Hwy 4 near Winnsboro with the Rev. Gene Dillworth of the First United Methodist Church of Baker, La and Rev. Troy Terrell of Mansfield, La officiating. Interment will directly follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday. Mrs. Epperson was born on December 6, 1941 in to the union of Homer James and Maurene Hansford and left this home on earth to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior and meet her loved ones in Heaven on February 28, 2012 at her home in Baker, Louisiana. Glenda grew up on Lake St. John in Ferriday, La and was very active in basketball and was a member of the Ferriday High School basketball team. She was married 49 years to Buddy, whom she met in High School. She and Buddy spent their years in Baker, La and was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church. Glenda was a loving child of God and worked diligently involving her church and the Community Café of Baker, La, where she worried, prayed, and helped to feed, clothe, and house the needy children of God. She was a loving and giving person who placed the needs of others before her own. She loved everyone. “Mama, we will see you again!” She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James S. “Buddy” Epperson; one sister, Mary Louise Hansford Morehead; and her precious little great niece Brittney Angelica “Angel” Martinez. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Badeaux & husband John, Wendy Epperson, Michelle Jester & husband Larry; three grandchildren whom she loved so much, Evan Epperson, J.I. Jester, & Lexi Jester; two sisters, Judy Polk & husband James of Mansfield, La. and Dianne Wyles of Fayetteville, Ar.; one brother, Billy Ray Hansford of Vidalia; one very special friend, Martha Terrell Rice of Franklinton, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Morehead, Marvin Morehead, Troy B. Ezell, John Paul Morehead, Andy Schrilla, Johnny Whitehead & Scottie N. Meadows Ezell. Honorary pallbearers will be John Badeaux, Larry Jester, Evan H. Epperson & J.I. Jester. Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Wednesday at Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday, La. A memorial service is to be scheduled for a later date at the First Methodist Church of Baker, La. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Community Café and the First Methodist Church, both in Baker, La. Online guestbook at www.comerfh.com
