Charles Smithson "Hub" King

October 13, 1931 - May 16, 2012

Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Smithson “Hub” King, 80, of Jonesville will be 10am Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Jonesville with the Revs. Jack Knapp, Gary Norris, & Craig James officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday. Mr. King was born on October 13, 1931 in a houseboat on Ouachita River to the union of Lee Roy King and Alice “Tot” Parker King and passed from this life on May 15, 2012 in Jonesville, La. Mr. King was a commercial fisherman, a former Catahoula Parish school board member and a member of the 1st Pentecostal Church of Jonesville. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pollye Lilly King; & 1 son, Gregory King. He is survived by 2 sons, Ken King & wife Mary & Ben King & wife Karen, both of Jonesville; 1 daughter Kelli Ryan & husband Jack of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kristy & Kelcey King, Payton Ryan, Morgan Woods, & Dani Pendarvis; 3 brothers, James Roy “J.R.” King, Lee “Cooter” King, Bobby W. King; 1 sister, Jeanette Delhoste; and caretaker and friend, Darlene Grantham; and a host of nieces, nephews, & friends. Pallbearers will be Wedon King, Austin King, Ronnie Bradford, Morgan Ryan, Will Woods, Drew Pendarvis, Roy King, Ryan King, Conan King, Arthur Ray King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnnie Jolly, T.D. Pugh, Robbie McMillin, Burley House, William Herron, Ray Cagle, David Cagle, & Brian Steele. Visitation will be from 5-9pm Wednesday, at First Baptist Church of Jonesville. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
