Mr. Chapman had been a resident of Ferriday for 58 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Ferriday. He was the retired owner of the Han Dee Stop in Ferriday. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Airborne. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, the Kiwanis Club, and had been very active in the Ferriday Dixie Youth Baseball program. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reece and Henrietta Chapman, his wife, Ina K. Chapman, a daughter, LaWynn Free, and two sisters, Bobbie Harrisn and Jeanette Clement. He is survived by his son: Gary Chapman of Ferriday; grandchildren: Kevin Chapman and wife, Ashey, Janelle Chapman, Jay Free and wife, Karen, Tamara Free, and April McCloud and husband, Jeff; great grandchildren: Layton Chapman, Reece Chapman, Logan Chapman, Avery Halford, Tristan Halford, America Johnson, Christian Free, Hailey Buckles, Alexis Buckles, Taylor Buckels, Blair McCloud, Natalee McCloud, Alyssa McCloud, and Jeffrey McCloud.
